Free Tickets

When I was a kid, there was a contest on the radio that went something like this:

When you hear the sound of the gong, call into Station XYZ. The first caller will win a hit single by … (I’ve forgotten the name but it was a highly desirable item at the time.) For the younger crowd, ’singles’ came before LP’s (I think) which came before 8-tracks which came before cassettes which came before CD’s which came before MP3 players and stealing music from the Internet.

More EverNote

I started using EverNote back when it was barely out of the womb and for awhile I was a beta-tester. Since then they have been adding features and leaping on ahead of what I’ve learned so far, and so fast I can’t keep up. Now they’re off on Version 3 (out in beta) where you’ll be able to store your notes and clips on the web so you can have access to them anywhere. On your mobile phone too, if you have one, the database synchronized between all devices and your desktop, with the ability to email your ‘notebooks’ to whom you please. Now that they mention it, I can see a few thousand uses for that.

Back at the Ranch

I don’t actually live on a ranch, but I am back.  Contrary to popular belief, not everyone in Canada lives on a ranch or in an igloo.  We have towns and cities and ATM machines and milk that comes in cartons and all that regular stuff.  Not that I can work an ATM machine without becoming confused but we have them.  I am back from my travels and short as they were it always feels like a trip to the Moon.  I hate traveling.  I hate stuffing the trunk of a steel cage with my belongings and hurtling through space at 60 miles an hour.  I hate it even more than I hate Internet Explorer.
