By the end of Day 2 I’d come to a different idea about setting up my timers. Having one for ‘maintenance’ is too distracting. I don’t need to be reminded about checking email, logging into my various accounts, upgrades, updates, data backup, etc. They’re already like breathing. …[continued]

I got up late and did not make a list before I started my day. That was a mistake. Just winging it, this is what happened: …[continued]

I set a variety of small maintenance tasks on their own timers, decided that was too complicated and lumped them all into one called Maintenance. I’m testing this at 1 hour/day: email, logging into various accounts, data backup.
That’s an hour a day spent just treading water. I’m hoping to lower that. …[continued]

In talking about time management previously, I suggested that you make a list first thing in the morning (or the night before) about what your plans are for that day. ExifToolGUI works, Photo Mechanic works, XnView works. Software that can’t keep up should get out of the game and stop being so irritating. …[continued]

The wasps are still living in my mirror for now but I did purchase enough cayenne pepper to choke a horse and I’m dreaming up slathering on a mix of pepper and certified hexane-free castor oil to slow them down. I’ve read that yellow-jackets are known to be aggressive and to defend their nests to the death. Lucky me. I went back downtown today with Snoopy (I presume) on top of the mirror; all sprawled out and comfy, apparently suntanning his way across town. …[continued]

I noticed awhile ago that a wasp had taken up residence in the driver’s side mirror of my car – a 10+ year old foreign model in case you’re wondering. …[continued]

The economy is twisting this way and that and people are doing whatever they’re doing to make a good thing out of lemons. This is not always done with the highest regard for integrity and the feelings of others. ‘Tis the way of the world, sigh. …[continued]

Fototagger came up as a subject in today’s Scanfest. I wouldn’t mention it except that I said I would. I downloaded it, looked around a bit and here’s what I think. …[continued]
